Today, my son and I spent some quality time doing the things we love. I love to make pictures and he loves to skateboard, so naturally...we made skate photos for Father's Day.
I was shooting at 1/250th shutter speed, and 200 ISO. I metered the sky (f/8), dropped the Aperture to f/13 and set the light for proper exposure. The light was set to 1/4 power shooting through a 22 inch beauty dish with a sock diffuser.
The angle was tough to keep Matt sharp. I found that when I photographed from the end of the rail (Matt coming at me) made the image sharp but the background was even worse than what I have in this shot. Ideally, we would have went downtown and found a great place to skate/shoot. I thought about pulling out the D70s so I could cheat the shutter speed but rain was on it's way and I wanted to pull this off with the D300.
After a little post processing, the shot is done. We had fun, and spent quality Dad/Son time - I call this a success.

I adore how he portrays quality time with his son and I bet they possess good father- son relationship. Me and my son are spending time attending retreats and together we are discovering the journey of faith.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment; father/son time is important. They grow up fast but memories last forever.
